Fresh basil, you’ll need some whole leaves and some torn
Artisan bread or any good quality crusty bread
Garlic cloves, cut in half lengthwise
Slice squash in about ¼” pieces. Place squash in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss with some torn basil and salt. Set aside.
Slice bread in about ½” pieces. Drizzle each piece, on only one side with olive oil.
Grill the bread and the squash on both sides until you begin to see grill marks.
When the bread is done, rub each piece with the cut side of a garlic clove (on the side of the bread with olive oil). Smear a little cream cheese over that, top with one or two squash slices, place a basil leaf on the squash, then drizzle with a little oil.
